From a gamer's point of view:

Before I got Linux, i loved playing source-based games like Team Fortress 2, BUT i used to get these terrible F.P.S problems, which could make the game temporarily unplayable

After i installed Linux, the CPU hogging games didn't hog so much anymore without laggy XP in the background, thus fixing my XP problem and making TF2, a hell of a lot more fun!

Wine appears to emulate windows better than windows, so Linux owns windows AT windows!

Linux gaming FTW, Linux hacking FTW!

Running Ubuntu 8.0.4 Kernel 2.6.24-24-generic

and yes i realize how buggy Ubuntu is, i just suck at switching operating system, and I'm waiting for my external harddrive in the mail so i can backup much more safely.

I don't think Ubuntu is that buggy. As long as you stay on the stable releases and not jump to every BETA.

One thing I will say though: WINE = Wine Is Not and Emulator

Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other applications on your desktop.

I'm glad that you use Ubuntu though. I'll admit my gaming experiences on it have not been that great. The only game I play is UT04, and I installed it a couple distros ago, and it was terribly slow. It's native too! I think it was a problem on my end though, since my ATI card is a fucking pain to get drivers for.

Ubuntu is best for people making the switch. I think this summer I'm going to switch to a more Linuxy Linux. Anyone ever read anything on PHLAK? I heard that was a "security" Linux flavor.

100% Linux (Fedora) here.

I don't even have windows installed on my comp at all  and when I was dual booting, I found my windows.. to just sit there, never even booted into it, so I just wiped it off.

So I use Linux exclusively.

As for games.. I just use my ps3 for that.
