I would suggest another distro for everyday use such as Ubuntu. Backtrack is not built for eveyday use, unless of course you are an every day pentester, and that's it.

My main rig is running Windows 7, it's a gaming machine. My laptop is running Ubuntu. I want to dual-boot and put a Linux distro other than Ubuntu on my main, like Slackware. I know it's offensively difficult for new users but I want to experiment with a "real" Linux distro and see if I can't learn a thing or two.
