You're all focusing on getting the IP too much.
Are you needing to access your computer from another computer owned by you? If this is the case and you might find that a remote viewing client program like TeamViewer would work. You never have to tell it anything about IP.
Although it really depends what exactly you are wanting to be able to do with your remote connection to your computer.
So what are you wanting to be able to do?
You could also find out your current home networks global IP always by just using something like Dynamic DNS. It just automatically updates itself to provide you with either accessing by IP or by a chosen domain name.
