Proxy Settings Win 7 normal user

Hi,

I use Windows 7 and I'm trying to find out the proxy settings that are in use. I'm running under a limited user account, so I can't use internet explorer tools --> options --> network settings .. and the run as administrator button does not bring up an administrator login prompt (for the domain) but just opens the same instance of IE, with user privileges..

any idea how to find out what proxy settings are in use for my specific account on the network?????
Log in is via a domain controller.

Can you use the command line?
Try to go to Run, then type "cmd" and then you can type proxycfg.exe

I can't ... as it says windows command prompt has been disabled by your administrator.. Even when I try and run it from a normal user as under admin privileges, it just opens up cmd prompt like normal. no error message or anything???

What exactly are you trying to find out? Try a portable version of Firefox or IE.

When you log on to the network, the proxy setting are automatically applied so that you can connect to the network. however, I dont know what those settings are, if I want to connect to the same network from a different computer which has not been pre-configured by the domain admin.

The computer with the proxy settings wont let me use iexplorer to see what the proxy setting are, and any attempts to run as admin (elevated privileges) is ignored. No warning message appears, but IE still won't let me look at the proxy settings

I am saying you should try a portable version to run.

Still not sure why you need the proxy setting though.

Do you have any administrator account? Maybe, you can just crack down the administrator account. No another way can use proxy on normal user.

fashizzlepop also suggest to use portable browser. I guess, portable browser should be able to use proxy.
