now that you know how awesome a zip bomb is how do I create one?
create a file containing loads of zeros, like a 2 gigabyte file.
then add that file to an archive and compress it using the fastest method.
keep adding it untill you think you are done.
then decompress the file
Why waste that much time? Compression works like this: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/file-compression.htm
Basically you find frequent, repeating patterns in the text and you replace that text with a "symbol" identifying it. No, not a symbol like a smiley face or a heart. A symbol in this case just means a much shorter string of characters. So if you have "ABCABCABC" in your text, it might become "3ABC". Then to decompress you just look for those symbols.
So in our case, we would need to hand-craft a ZIP file (or generate one using a program) that contains something like "1000000000000000000000000000000ABC" which of course would expand into something very large.
