Ms Word 2007 super secure?

I really try but this isnt easy. I am ready to put a lot of time working with a problem until I manage it. And I am clever. Very clever. Unfortunately I am too often wasting my time. Appearently.
If i can´t get a good clue from someone who know, I maybe try figure it out myself, (never mind the encryption, if I could I would hex windows to crack the algorithm) but we are on the same side! A hacker shall never have to solve an old problem. Waste of time.

mShred is a mod, and what hellow and I were saying is that it unlike mShred to act in this manner. Regardless of the reason for the trololol, motivation is all you need to figure something out. I'm glad you don't just want an answer! Here is something that might help you out:

There is ALWAYS an easier way to do things... Instead of trying to break the encryption see if it is possible to REMOVE it completely from the file. It used to work in older versions of word, find out if it can still be done.

But honestly, if I were you, I'd just go with the latest version of the latest release. Microsoft is good about patching their shit, so if you keep updating everything, you should be good. I've also never put a password on a Word document. I didn't even know you could. But I guess I could have figured.

I don't find it necessary. My parents going to come into my comp and look at my documents all relating to school? I might as well just name it a school name for even better safety.

There are other (and most likely better) ways of protecting your documents besides using Word's password protection. You could encrypt them using a program like TrueCyrpt or put them in a password protected 7zip.

Truecrypt is THE way to go in my opinion if you are super serious about keeping your files under lock and key.

I can tell you loads of ways to make it secure. The question is, why would you NEED something to be password protected? Maybe a list of passwords, or your porn folder?

Depending on the person, some just like their privacy. I'm one of them. I have used TrueCrypt before, but meh.

Well, I guess if you need privacy. But honestly, I don't keep some sort of diary on my computer that I don't want people reading.

That was the first thing i tried It can´t be done, at least not by me... I´ve tried several ways to do it.

Thanx for all the answers to my questions! I think this is an interesting topic. And guys, if you are serious, you don´t underestimate Word. Many people use it.
