Lmfao, or you could answer his question.

I'd have to say that I think that Schneier's book "Applied Cryptography" is a pretty decent read from the little bit that I understood of it. Crypto isn't any kind of expertise for me though, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Seems like that book (above, by Schneier) I mentioned is cited more than any other crypto. resource that I've come across in articles and publications referring to cryptography, so take that at least as a more accurate measure of its value.

Yeah my apologies for sounding rude there, moneygreen.

Going off of what others have said I caught a glimpse of gary kessler's site on the first page of a google for cryptography and this looks pretty decent as well:

http://www.garykessler.net/library/crypto.html

Also, you could do what I had to do for school and get a subscription to something like Safari books online where you can read books online for much less than it would cost to buy them. It's good for people who don't have a decent library to go to with many computer books (e.g. me for one). I remember that they had some good books on cryptographic programming there.

I read part of that book (not much though). From what I saw, its quite well written. It certainly gives a good intro to crypto. It is a big book though, and thats probably why I didn't finish it. I've seen other smaller books that are good introductions to crypto, but I don't remember their titles at the moment.

Maybe you guys didn't notice that my entire post was a link to let me google it for you.

Sadly, faaz was the only one who noticed :/
