What's the best tunneling service?

a protocol like SSH is free. it's documented in an RFC, and that means anyone who wants to write a program to use the protocol can. the programs might not be free but the protocol is.

and luckily, OpenSSH (the free & best version of ssh) is free.

Is OpenSSH used for tunneling? or encrypting the data sent through the internet? And I imagine OpenSSH is a service? Well either way Im going to try it out right now.

As far as putty goes.. it's slick Cygwin doesn't even match its terminal emulation. When I fire up a shell on windows it's actually putty connecting to localhost, lol.

I'll second that one, freeware and effective. The only problem is the speed; it slows you down substantially. They do plan to improve that in future versions though. Another tip, if you are going to download, look for the latest STABLE version. The Alpha program didn't work for me (at all!). Might work better for you though...

I've been using Tor lately and it is absolutely great, howevvver... don't use it for torrents. It slows down significantly your already slow connection and ruins it for everyone else too. I am looking forward to Tor becoming faster.

How is JonDo? and can oneself push firefox web viewing through SSH?
