Intalling Metasploit on Ubuntu

I'm running a version of Ubuntu 9.10, and I'm can't find a .deb installer for Metasploit. Nor do I know how to compile an installer, or what to do with the archived file. Can anyone give me some simple instructions? I'm fairly new to this OS.

Sanddbox if you're not going to contribute anything, don't bother posting.

how to compile from source.

You won't learn much from using Metasploit, but at the very least, you'll learn about compiling Linux programs from source-code.

Alright. I'll check that out insomaniacal. I noticed there was a version of it on backtrack 4, and I was wondering how to compile programs for a while. While I guess google would have been my friend there it's always nice to get help from a pro.
