View Unsecured HTTP data?

How do I view http request data that isn't encrypted? Is it illegal? I've been searching for info, yet i always come up empty handed. Anything helps.

More info? Are you trying to view your data? Or someone else's? Look into wireshark. That may be of use to you.

Wireshark is pretty easy to view your own data, but it's pretty hard to get remote data especially if the person is unknowing or unwilling.

If it's on your own network obviously you should be good. However, if you piggy on your neighbors wifi or on it at McDonalds while eating a big mac then it will most likely be illegal. Most people don't monitor the network for any unusual activity unless it's a bigger type of business or their just hackers.

But yes, more info would be nice. Tons of different ways to view certain types of requests. Likely going to need to be preforming a MiTM attack to pull it off though.

Wireshark was mentioned, also you can check into tcpdump (which are both free).
