You didn't Google. There are thousands of tutorials all over the Internet for this.

you will probably have to get one of those wifi usb sticks for 30 bucks.

I assume he already has a wlan device. Unless it isn't capable of cracking WEP for some reason (I've never had a card that wasn't) he won't need any extra equipment.

well it has to be capable of packet injection I would think, and although my Intel 3945 card supports that I had serious issues getting it to work :/
but maybe that's just me being a noob
