How do YOU safeguard yourself from mitm/mitb attacks?

I was just wondering what safeguards some of you guys use beyond the normal safeguards (anti-virus/malware/spyware, etc) to ensure you never fall victim to a cain & abel attack.

I don't know if you'd count "Norton" It's an anti-virus/anti-malware/anti-spyware/firewall.....

I guess I never really answered the question. I send all of my sensitive data through an ssh tunnel to my house (when I am away, obviously) and monitor for any suspicious ARP traffic.

What Goatboy means is that you should learn the basics of networking.
Here is some stuff you should check out:

• TCP/IP
• IP Address
• MAC Address
• Address resolution protocol
• Address resolution protocol poison routing(ARP Poison Routing or APR for short)

If you are in a public wireless network you should also read about:

• Radio communication
• Promiscuous mode

When I'm at home, I'm fairly certain no one is performing Mitm attacks. When away from home, I really don't take as many precautions as I should. If it's an untrusted Wi-Fi spot I just happened to pick up, I try to use Https as often as possible for a tad of privacy.

Yea, I've heard about that, hence "tad of privacy". I have no excuse beyond laziness I suppose.
