Net Send is FUN!

ok, i did this at my school. and i got in huge trouble (i dont know why) but anyway if you dont know what net send is, ill tell you. net send is a dos command that will send a message to a computer on the network of your chice, there are a few ways to do this. you can specify the computer you want by using the computer name, the user name of whoever is logged on the network, the ip address, or, THE ENTIRE NETWORK, which is * ok, so the setup should look like this.

net_send_ (name of computer name, ip, user or * for all nodes on the network)_(message)

you can also do a self repeating version of this, but i forgot the command, SO GOOGLE IT.

then hit enter, its fun, i did it at my school and i did it to the entire network, which i thought would be just the library or just the school, but no, it sent it to EVERY computer to ALL 3 SCHOOLS IN OUR TOWN! so yea. and all i said was test. and good morning.

And you can do the Net send from the regular command prompt??

yup, last i checked, but i use XP, so if ur using vista (shutter) then i dont know. you can normally do it on the school computers to, unless CMD is dissabled. they disabled cmd after the trick i pulled, but i made freinds with the computer addmin, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

what i need to know is how do i get someone elses ip address?? and the person i message just has to be online??

yeah i keep my enemies real close, they help alot without them knowing they helped me...

they blocked the cmd prompt completel?? cause i know how to open it a different way..

open note pad and type "command.com" and save it as "(any file name).bat

no no not on the internet, on the NETWORK. and you dont have to use the ip. you can use their username, Exammple. when i first did it i tested it by using their username, so mu freinds username is say Jshaw, so i do net send jshaw test, and when i hit enter he gets a popup that says, test. network dosent mean internet, your school has a network, if you want more info on it, just google the defenition of a network, or just ask me.

you can only send messages or can you send batch files or something??

well there is not much more to it, but idk if you can attatch files, i never really reasearched any further scince i got in trouble, but i found an article on net send chating batch file http://www.osix.net/modules/article/?id=675

NOTE: net send in not on vista, and has benn disabled on XP SP2

it all depends, are you trying to send them a net send? cuz that wont work, you have to be on the same network. and it depends if you are talking about getting someones over the internet, or getting it physically (at there actual computer) from there computer.
