Are we supposed to complete this one the same way we completed mission 2? Because I just used the D** S*** problem for both. Is there a way to do it in which I would learn more?

While the solution to IRC 2 currently works in IRC 4, there is alternative solution to this level involving the same command with a much shorter argument. This vulnerability only affects a certain brand of router. Evidently, this alternative solution to IRC 4 does not work on IRC 2.
