Pressing Ctrl+Shift+u once can be used in Linux to input hex unicode/ASCII (press Ctrl+Shift again afterwards), in Windows holding down Alt combined with the numpad numbers (the other ones won't work) will do the same with integer unicode/ASCII. I don't know if that was a requirement here, but I have used those at least once in the IRC missions.
Well, all clients should also come equipped with a command to do this as well.
If your client doesn't support it, time to get a new one, cause the one you are using sucks.
