I think the 7 JavaScript missions now available are really interesting, so I was wondering if there was gonna be any more any time soon ?

This is an old thread, however I thought I'd bump it. My fellow hacker and friend seth_slade made a truly amazing JS mission a long while back. It was a great deal harder than most JS missions, as to solve it you needed to write your own code and understand how his crazy function worked. It was brilliant. I still have the code too. :P
seth was a dev here, idk if he still is. I'll try to get in touch with him and see if we cant get the mission up and running on HTS.

Mutantsrus: email Monica@HackThisSite.org if you find the code. The more missions the better!

There is a limit to how complicated cracking an application can be when you have the source and the ability to change it at your will.

so so so true...but i thought heck y not try to make my own that requires extensive knowledge and the requirement to use Firebug well i finally finished but its not exactly as hard as i hoped it would but it still is hard none the less but not hard enough to call hard possible it would be rated moderate i still think its cool i combined obfuscation, with problem solving, and a bit of confusion i am thinking about making it even messier but if i did even i would get lost on the problem but if i did i guess that would be good, as-long as it is solvable.

Seth's was pretty brilliant in how it worked. It was a bit of a puzzle as well as a JS mission. I'd really love to find the source that I had of it. Sadly, I seem to have misplaced it.

Quite honestly, all of the JS missions were extremely easy. I've dealt with hex encoding and decoding, so the last few missions were fairly easy. I was wondering, could I make a JS mission and submit it to be considered to be a mission? I don't have any ideas now, but if I knew that I could make a JS mission for this site, I would make one. Such as maybe one with cookies? Plus some JS injection. I think it'd be a good idea. Thoughts?

...i dont even consinder it hacking.... because it is really easy, but a complex code can hide you important staf on reading the code, and help you test your javascript skills.

Tricks like:

Code: Select all
<script>
testMyJsCodePlease248954Lol();
function testMyJsCodePleasE248954Lol(){alert("Password is lol_1")}
function TestMyJsCodePlease248954Lol(){alert("Password is lol_2")}
function testMyJsCodePlease247954Lol(){alert("Password is lol_3")}
function testMyJsCodePlease248954Lol(){alert("Password is lol_4")}
function testmyJsCodePlease248954Lol(){alert("Password is lol_5")}
function testMyJsC0dePlease248954Lol(){alert("Password is lol_6")}
</script>

alert=Password is lol_4

or

Code: Select all
<span id="happyText">What a nice day, do you think we can go for a walk in the park?</span>
<script>
var x=document.getElementById('happyText').innerHTML+' ';
var x=x.replace(' ','');
var x=x.replace(' ',' ');
var y=x.match(/\w+/gi)[1]
alert(y);
</script>

alert=nice

but such codes can realy show you the resaults by running them.
