If by thousands you mean x to the power of moo where x is the number of allowable characters (lowercase, uppercase, digits, ....) the script accept as password...

I can't tell if this is a spoiler or not but .length DOES NOT mean lengths like feet or inches...
maybe it was only me who spent half an hour trying to insert every single possible length...
if you are having trouble, I can guarantee reading http://www.hscripts.com/tutorials/javascript/string-length-method.php will help.

I certainly feel like a complete idiot right now...

if it helps, remember that google is a calculator too... i used it when i realized crappy windows calc doesn't do mod [%]...
