Actually I was about to give up. I read all the post, all more confusing one after the other, finding the good result but nothing was happening no matter the password (not even a fail indication). So I just used google chrome instead of firefox for this one and it worked.

My advice, try on different browsers if it doesn't work.

Tried in chrome, didn't work :(

umkay, I'll try it...

EDIT:
Still no luck, I used IE8 on WinXP.
Both limdis and Ninjex verified my answer.

I just finished this mission!
Here's how:
Go to the fourms, and look at any thread. (or start a new thread)
PREVIEW the text:
Code: Select all

replace "thepassword" with the level password.
If you got it right, your profile page will show you as having finished js mission 3!

See here and here for how it works.

ROTFL!

Mark me up as one of those who feels stupid after solving. I spent 30 minutes trying to make x.length == moo.length. No, no, no. (That's why I'm such a lousy programmer.)

Hint to those who are buggy scripters like myself:

What is moo? That's how many digits you should have.

Also, remember what % means in programming. I noticed a lot of commenters trying to take percentages of a number.

I fully understand what quality the level password should possess, but I am one of those users who has tried to input a variety of passwords with that certain "quality" and nothing seems to happen other than the url changing to reflect my attempted password.

3vilp4wn, what do you mean "PREVIEW" the text in a forum?

Thanks

^ The idea above is to indirectly visit the correct url by making the browser request an image from that url.

I stumbled upon another work-around, though.

I deleted all cookies for the site (which logged me out), went to the correct url (https://www.hackthissite.org/missions/j ... hepassword) and then logged in again. When I logged in I got a "level up"-alert and the mission was completed.

I'm not sure if it's reproducible, but it might be worth a shot.

I also couldn't get this to work (running firefox), i figured it out in seconds but for some reason when i entered a right pass nothing would happen, spent 20 minutes litteraly trying to figure out how i got something wrong, clicked on my profile and it said i completed it, so it turns it i did it perfectly fine my first try just diddnt notify me, so anyone stuck on this check to make you sure you havent completed it and it just diddnt tell you(:

Not working for me I know the answer but its not accepting anything its not even saying if its correct or incorrect. Has the mission been changed for us to exploit the code instead? Not just work out the math.

Try doing what 3vilp4wn and it should work.
