Mission 4 help

My problem is that when I save the file as .html I can't view it like the actual site. It shows up in html. How can I fix that?

No any browser will work. If that's not working then you didn't edit it right.

So i am having the same problem as whodetninja. i know i did the mission correctly since i have finished it before. but now i am getting
Invalid Referer
Invalid referer. The requested URL /missions/basic/4/index.php will not be loaded.

i just recently learned ANYTHING about source codes and html, and i made it through lvls 1-3 without too much trouble, and i think i know what to do on lvl 4, but how do i make the changes i make to the code save untill i can click the "send password to sam" button. plz help!

The Basic Missions 1-10 thread almost walks you through Step 4. That's the only way I could have figured it out with as little as I know. I haven't even completed mission 3 yet.

I also wondered If I had done this correctly when I got the password or If I had somehow bypassed the way it was supposed to send It me by email.

So just to confirm, the only way I am seeing this password is if I have done the right thing and not cheated the mission? lol

I hope I did It right, though I'm still learning It seemed like the logical changes to make in order to get the result I wanted.

Yes, you did it right. If you've correctly changed the right values, the script just gives you the password

OK, that is cool, I just thought Id cheated because I got the password so quickly and yet i struggled for a while on the 2nd mission lol.

Hey,
So I am new to the site (which a majority of you are probably sick of hearing :/), but, and hopefully I'm not spoiling anything here, I will try to be as vague as I can while getting my point across, when I copied what I needed to, and then made the necessary change in order to acquire the password, the page I use when I open the file in my browser only has the actual source code. Like its basically the same thing as the original source code only with the change that I made to it. Is it because I am using a mac? Or do I need to use something other than textedit? Please help, I am very anxious to move on, especially since I know what to do, it just isn't coming to fruition due to this probably moronic mistake that I am making.

I probebly did somthing wrong but still wanna be sure, it says my email is invalied please fix it if its a bug, btw i use gmail if that matters
