Try Firebug add-on instead.

I've tried a few different ways to get the changed source code to open up but tis not working. I put the source code onto a free webhosting site that I signed up on to play around with html but, after saving the source code with necessary changes, the "forms" buttons don't show up. I think that may just be a problem with the host (or maybe a setting that I've not yet discovered) as some of the other forms stuff I've tried previously didn't show up either. Anyway, I'll keep trying, though I didn't find any information from W3S on how to copy the source code of a particular website and make changes to it so that the changes are displayed properly on a new page.

I guess "more research" is the answer, though I'm tempted to pretend that I've been sent by another website to research a similar problem and I found THIS website as part of that research so that I'll pass the research test and you'll give another clue as to how to view the changed source code so that I can press the damn button...

BTW...

Try harder.

Honestly, the hints provided in this thread are all that you need.

Although you are theoretically correct, one wonders if you often have problems with people assuming that you are dishonest in the things you say. ;)

You don't need to go through all of that trouble for this. As far as the 'submit button' not showing up, I know that if you save a webpage using Firefox but then try to open it with IE, it doesn't open the same, so maybe something like that is happening for you. If you are using Firefox, get the firebug add-on. If you are using a different browser, then you may want to use something like notepad but pay attention to the file extension and how you save it. A *.txt file won't work. Another thing to 'research' would be javascript injections and google things pertaining to that and this mission. There are links in this forum that are very helpful. Hope this helps.

It works because 'Sams' coding has security flaws in it. What you should do at this point is pretend that YOU are the system administrator and try to figure out how you could prevent this from happening, now that you know it's exploitable.

I figured out what needed to be done right away, but I spent over 10 minutes trying to execute it. Firebug helped out a lot! It took longer to download Firebug then it did to get the password once it was installed. Thanks for that tip! Love this site by the way I am learning so much!
