I have the same problem.

I got the password after about 20 minutes worth of working my way through it, and when I finally match the two, it still shoots an error up. Any ideas why?

There's probably something off in your decoding, I just retried the mission and it's working fine so make sure you have it exact.

Okay, this one really starts to piss me off. I got everything else figured out but the ";" in the middle is causing me trouble big time. I figured out how to use the ascii and with that I solved all other letters/numbers/etc. But when I try to decrypt that ";" it doesn't come out as I would have expected it. First it gives me some letters twice and then jumps over the ";" (happens when that one is the third). Now that look at it, it seems that this one is not the only one that's been jumped over in the third.

I'm confused.

edit:
And as it seems, no matter what you encrypt, nothing comes out as an ";"
It doesn't matter if it's first, second etc. it just wont appear. :(

Its easier than it looks stop bothering with all with all the terms and expressions and just think about it.If it helps you might want to check out this web page.Anything more would just be giving away easy answers.Good luck

Just enter something to get its encrypted version and analyze the output carefully. It'll take just a moment to ascertain the encrypting algo. --May I recommend a close look at the ordering of the english language alphabets.--

Ok, now I got it. I knew I got it right and the problem wasn't my understanding. Apparently there something f***ed up with my keyboard or something. Had to use another computer to get pass this one.

Hi,

This is my first post on this site (very helpful and fun), I would like to add my own hint, and hope it helps. Try entering uniform data across the length of the password into the encryption ex. "00000000" (dont copy and paste, that actually changes the results I have found, wierd)

hope that helps

I understand how the algorithm works, and i know what to do, but i cant get the last character. I'm using a laptop that doesn't have a numb-pad, will that be a problem?

Edit: Oh, duh, i was calculating wrong, I dont need the numb-pad.
