i am having the same issue. The phrase i wrote matches when i encrypt it, but it tells me its the wrong password :/

Edit:
For those who are a bit slow on the take, remember the ":" at the end of the encrypted password, is actually a part of the password >_> I feel ashamed :p

Actually, all passwords are different, therefore not everyone will have that character at the end.

Try reversing the algorithm, guessing will not help you learn anything.

An ascii chart might be helpful, once you figure out the pattern of encryption.

Hey guys,

I solved it easily enough by reversing the algorithm by hand (didn't even need the ascii table, my password was all easy lowercase letters). I'm curious though - is there a way to do this by exploiting the webpage itself like the previous tests? If so how would someone be pointed in that direction? Feel free to shoot a PM if it's too spoilery. I just can't believe that decrypting it (even with an easy algorithm like this) is the most efficient method.

Actually that is the idea of this mission. Sometimes you can get into something just by brute forcing or by reversing bad encryption. In the Realistic missions you'll need to reverse encryption too, that's why it's in the basics. I'd say reversing it by hand is probably the most inefficient way of doing it, but from experience I know it works.
