Would it be out of regulations?

Would it be out of line to start a topic for your own and/or others hacking attempts, successes, and history that just seems funny to you?

Like for instance, on January 31, 2007 when Samy aka JS.Spacehero created the first ever known "XSS Worm" on the popular social site MySpace.

This worm created a payload so that when anyone viewed a page with the worm on it, it would automatically add him to their friends list and add the string: "Samy is my Hero" to their Hero's list; it would then add the payload onto their page as well, allowing it to spread even faster.
This is one of the fastest worm spreads to have been recorded and was ran by over 1,000,000 people in 20 hours.

He could have done more serious damage of course with the code manipulation he found to allow blocked scripts to work, but he just made more of a friendly prank out of it.

Still he was sentenced to three years probation, 90 days community service, and an undisclosed amount of restitution.

To me, this is epic awesomeness.
- Samy is my Hero!

As long as the the hack is by someone else and is publicized (by articles, or whatever) it's completely fine.

If it's your friend's hacking attempts, you shouldn't. You never know what trouble you might get him/her into.

If it's your own hacks, feel free, but you do so at your own risk.

Sweet, thanks for the reply.

So here is a story at school my teacher pissed me off, so I booted up my laptop and changed her password to "Bitch".

She was so angry when she couldn't log in the next day for a presentation on the projector.

The look on her face was priceless.

Sure, no problems from the mod side as long as it's stories and not intent to do something. But adding to what Wallshadow said, just be careful. These forums are entirely public.

I would hate to be on her bad side

Here is another story for you, this one took place roughly a month ago.

I was on my Xbox playing Halo: Reach when I got paired up with a group of kids who used network manipulation and mods to win the game.

I proceeded to to invite them into a party and only one joined up.

We got into a argument over the situation, and he replied with "Cool story bro"

We all know how that goes right? Haha

Needless to say, I booted up into my BT5 os and his reaction about 5 minutes later was priceless.

I got on his gamer tag from xbox.com and sent him a message from his own account saying:
"What story bro?"

Funny how quick people will change their tone and actions towards another.
Almost like they suffer from a bipolar disorder.
