Re: Online CTF Event (Feb 20th - 21st)

Appreciate the advice. I'm going to wet my head on some conferences first to get a feel for the environment. Securi-tay in Dundee being my first venture. Gave my location away a tad there but I can hardly call myself a l337 H4x0r hacking my own wifi and home lab. When I feel like getting pumped for...

Re: What is this in html file

True, true. I recommend you switch to Linux for hacking and programming. If anything, you can keep windows and run Linux as a virtual machine or you can dual boot with Windows.

I'm glad you learned something new.. Stay nerdy.

Re: What is this in html file

Yeah, my approach to this is a bruteforce style approach, and I believe that's the only approach you can take on these kinds of attacks. I simply automated requests, when the algorithms time consumption was over a specific amount. We append that to our password and continue to try the password with ...

Re: Online CTF Event (Feb 20th - 21st)

Count me in I will be more than delighted to see you participate (: I can bring refreshments, nachos and choc peanuts. It's about how useful I'd be at this. Good luck though. :) Tagging along anyway isn't a bad idea. Even if you don't solve shit, it's an opportunity for you to learn something. It a...

Re: What is this in html file

Sorry, I really have to be getting to bed so I don't have much time to explain. You can look over my source code for now, and I will explain more in depth when I get home from work tomorrow. #!/usr/bin/ruby require 'rest-client' require 'open-uri' combos = [*'a'..'z', *'0'..'9', ...

Re: What is this in html file

I was correct about this being a timing attack. It was not SQLi, but rather taking advantage of the encryption algorithm's execution time. I created a quick Ruby script to solve it.
Here is the password

Re: What is this in html file

Adding the ?debug parameter to the URL will give additional output. You just don't see that reflecting because it directs back to index.php before you viewed the source... If I was a betting man, I would say this is a timing attack or a time based SQLi challenge. curl 'http://game.rop.sh...

Re: Do you know exploit on this code ??

But last Question What is CLI ? CLI is an acronym for Command Line Interface. It's some application which takes input only via text/mouse. In other words, you don't have buttons and other fancy stuff. We refer to the fancy things as GUI's or Graphical User Interfaces. An example of a CLI program is...

Re: Books and information on Java Network coding?

Normally you would want to use a framework of some type to handle this kind of stuff. Of course you could try and do it all on your own, but it would be more difficult. For Java, a solid framework appears to be HttpCore I used Ruby to complete all of my programming challenges here, and I used the Me...
